ATS & Compatibility
What is an ATS?
An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is software used by employers to scan and filter resumes before a human reviews them. Our ATS score helps ensure your resume is readable by these systems.
How accurate is the ATS score?
Our ATS score is provided as an estimate based on common ATS best practices. Actual compatibility varies by employer's ATS system. We recommend reviewing your resume with career professionals for your specific situation.
What is ATS Mode?
ATS Mode simplifies your resume template by removing design elements that might confuse applicant tracking systems. It ensures maximum compatibility while maintaining a professional appearance.
Why is my ATS score lower than 100?
ATS scores depend on factors like template complexity, use of graphics, font choices, and section formatting. Templates with simpler layouts (like Classic or Minimal) typically score higher. You can improve your score by enabling ATS Mode or choosing a different template.
Which template is best for ATS?
The Minimal template (100/100) and Classic template (95/100) have the highest ATS compatibility. Single-column layouts with standard fonts perform best with most ATS systems.
Features & Functionality
What formats can I download?
You can download your resume as a PDF (professional format), plain text (for online application forms), or DOCX (Microsoft Word format).
Can I switch templates after creating my resume?
Yes! You can switch between templates at any time. Your content will be preserved and automatically reformatted to match the new template design.
What are AI content suggestions?
AI content suggestions provide professionally written examples for job descriptions, skills, and achievements. These suggestions are tailored to common job roles and can help you articulate your experience more effectively.
How does the resume history feature work?
Resume history lets you save multiple versions of your resume. You can restore any previous version, making it easy to maintain different resumes for different job applications.
Can I share my resume with others?
Yes! Use the share button to generate a URL that encodes your resume data. Anyone with the link can view your resume, but they cannot edit the original stored in your browser.
Resume Formatting
How long should my resume be?
For most professionals, a one-page resume is ideal. Those with extensive experience (10+ years) may need two pages. ResumeFlex shows page breaks in the preview so you can see how your resume will print.
What font should I use?
Each template uses professionally selected fonts. Classic templates use traditional serif fonts (Times New Roman, Georgia), while modern templates use clean sans-serif fonts (Arial, Inter). Choose based on your industry and personal preference.
How many bullet points should I include per job?
Aim for 3-5 bullet points per job position, focusing on quantifiable achievements and responsibilities. Prioritize recent roles with more detail, and older positions with fewer bullets.
Should I include a photo on my resume?
In most US job applications, photos are not recommended as they can introduce bias. However, practices vary by country. ResumeFlex templates do not include photo sections to maintain ATS compatibility and reduce bias.
Technical Support
Which browsers are supported?
ResumeFlex works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version for the best experience.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Clearing your browser data will delete your saved resumes since they are stored locally. We recommend downloading your resume regularly or saving versions to your resume history for backup.
Can I use ResumeFlex on mobile?
Yes! ResumeFlex is fully responsive and works on mobile devices. However, for the best editing experience, we recommend using a desktop or tablet.
Does ResumeFlex work offline?
No, ResumeFlex requires an internet connection to load initially. However, once loaded, you can edit your resume and it will continue to work if your connection drops briefly.
